Chivilcoy

There are certain festivities in our territory ignored by the rest of the world as a direct consequence of their lack of diffusion. That is why we get to Chivilcoy with the intention of showing the Tradition festivities in that city of the Pampas.

This celebration starts the day before when the Tradition Queen is consecrated. Unlike Queens and Princesses consecrated in the rest of the world, they neither measure 90-60-90 nor they parade in swimsuit. They just have to exhibit the wonderful freshness of their 15, 17 or 21 years of age. Instead of swimsuits, all the participants wear countrywomen clothes for the several parades. These clothes are also worn in the volantas (two-wheeled carriages) or accompanying the outstanding figures that have always represented our men: the gauchos.

They shall parade next to the troop of horses guided by the cowbell sound or along the magnificent carriages admired by the "forasteros" along their way.
Every November 11th, the logic running in order to fulfill the settled time-schedule starts around the main park and adjacent streets, but it is always delayed. Then, the arrival of the "chinitas" is expected.

Their parents, friends or husbands accompany them, either in a double mounting of a sorrel horse or in the coachmen seats.
Thus, festivity starts headed by members of traditionalistic groups with their best riding, the most beautiful harnesses and a crowd unreluctantly applauding each one of the participants. After this first parade, the time comes to watch the passing of the Queen chosen the former night accompanied by the two princesses.
Farther, the note of humor with the playful "petisos", following the steps marked by both the countrymen and the cowbell and the prevalence of a carriage pulled by beautiful specimens in accordance with the importance of the vehicle.

The drove of horses, troop of horses and carriages will keep on parading for hours in front of the stage, the modern and old buildings or among the people proud of watching their own in a permanent defense of tradition, with the sole purpose of preserving their roots.

All of "them" contribute to these Traditional festivities. They not only invest every moment of their lives but also economically participate in all this huge mobilization of participants, vehicles and mounting or draught animals.

"They" are the ones who have assumed the commitment of keeping the memories alive for the rest of the Argentineans to have a more precise idea of which our origin was; this being the only way of knowing where we want to lead.
