Parque Lezama

This handsomely landscaped park, the former grounds of a mansion built by Charles Ridgely Horne in the mid 19th century, is believed to be the site of the initial founding of Buenos Aires. On one side of the park is the mansion, which now houses the National History Museum; on the other side lies the Russian Orthodox Church, Avenida Brasil and the murky Bar Britanico cafe, where scenes from Argentine TV series are often filmed. Drummers and other musicians sometimes perform for smallish audiences, and artisans hock their wares.
